Does it hurt?
Only very small quantities of Botulinum Toxin are administered. We use ice to numb the area to be injected and therefore minimise any discomfort you may experience.
When will I see my results?
Botulinum Toxin can take from 2 - 14 days to work.
How long will it last?
Botulinum Toxin is only a temporary treatment, in the face you should expect to get at least 3 months from your treatment. Under arms 4-7 months.
How safe is this treatment?
The dosage used in cosmetics is extremely small. KAMA takes great care in the planning of your treatment.
Are there side effects?
Although extremely rare, Botulinum Toxin can migrate to nearby muscles, causing some weakness such as drooping of the upper eyelid. This is temporary and would only last for a few weeks. In an exceedingly small number of cases Botulinum Toxin may not work as effectively as expected, this is unable to be predicted before treatment.
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
What is hyperhidrosis?
This is a medical term for excessive sweating, under arms, hands or feet. A highly effective treatment for 95% of clients. Botulinum Toxin works by blocking the signals to the eccine sweat glands and thus reduces the amount of sweating.
Who can have this treatment?
Most people but all clients are advised to seek medical advice prior to treatment to ensure there are no underlying causes for your excessive sweating.
What does the treatment involve?
After a simple starch test that identifies the sweat glands a small injection of Botulinum Toxin is injected into the skin of the underarms approximately in 12 -15 places. Although clients are discouraged from physical activity for several hours, normal activity carries on as before. You would expect 95% effectiveness within 48 hours and full effect within a week.
What are the side effects?
Very few, tiny bruising may occur at the injection sites and occasionally small persistent areas of sweating that may require a second session. There is no risk of muscle numbness or perm ant change in the axillary skin.
